We’ve decided to make the most of the end of summer by inviting some of our closest friends on a spontaneous road trip this weekend. What else says bonding (and hello, photo opportunities!) like belting out tunes in the backseat with your best buds?

This weekend is all about having a full-on blast to bid adieu to summer, which means comfort is key. Heading onto the open road means a lack of space … and a lack of washing machines. We suggest grabbing some of your old, favorite vintage T-shirts – which, let’s be honest, only get better the more messed up they get – and lightweight rompers and shorts to avoid awkward discomfort in the car.

Read on to see what else we’re packing for our road trip!

Vintage t-shirts are an ultimate must-have for road trips, not only are they comfortable, the more distressed they get, the better they become!

Leave the burden of accessories at home for a road trip, they'll end up just getting lost anyways. Pick a favorite necklace that goes with just about anything.

Road trips are all about being easy going but ready for unexpected adventures as they arise. Be geared up to run in a field, snap a photo op or just cruise along in a super comfy romper.

Elastic Back Playsuit, $84, at Topshop

Electronics have the pesky habit of falling between cushions in a car, keep your camera safe (and close by!) in this super cute carrying case to capture the best moments on the road.

BDG Crossbody Camera Case, $39, at Urban Outfitters

We love driving with the windows down (obviously to get away with belting out our favorite tunes as loud as possible). This means a somewhat unsightly wind-blown 'do. Throw a hat on and call it a day.

Harding Lane For OC Dead Smiley Hat, $35, at Opening Ceremony

We're really into packable pieces for these sorts of adventures. Here, we suggest these foldable flats (plus they look like adorable mice!)

Marc by Marc Jacobs Patent Mouse Ballerina Flat, $195, at Marc Jacobs

Sunglasses are one area if you're hitting the road where you might want to consider splurging -- squinting into the sun for hours will totally take away from your sing-along!

Prada PR 58OS, $310, at Sunglasses Hut

Who doesn't love instant gratification? Scoop up a new Polaroid camera before embarking on your trip.

Polaroid 300 Instant Camera, $69.99, at Target

A studded duffle? Hey, why not, you've got to carry your clothes in something.
