Here, our top picks for what to do this weekend including a pizza pig out, Christies auction house’s James Bond auction and the return of “Homeland”. What’s on your weekend agenda? Share with us in the comments.
EAT: October is National Pizza Month (not that we need a special month to enjoy one of our favorite foods). To kick off the holiday right head to one of your favorite pizza spots this weekend. One of our favorite pizzas at the moment is the pomodoro pizza at Flour + Water in the Mission district in San Francisco that is topped with squid. It's just as amazing as it sounds. 2401 Harrison Street San Francisco, California; flourandwater.com.
PAMPER: This weekend splurge on a out of the box spa treatment. Our favorite is the Vodka Detox Massage at Spa Le Bristol by La Prairie in Paris. The treatment takes place in the "Russian Room" which is fitted with a private hammam, a heated marble table and a horizontal shower. It uses the alcohol to exfoliate, though as far as we are concerned it just sounds cool. 112 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, Paris; lebristolparis.com.
DRINK: Toast the start of fall with a great glass of bubbly. One of our favorite places to buy champagne these days is Henri's Reserve, an e-commerce site that only sells champagne. The site even sells "tastings" or packages of some its favorite varieties. Visit henrisreserve.com for more information.
PLAY: Christie's auction house is selling a ton of James Bond movie memorabilia to coincide with the 50th birthday of the spy movie series. Items being offered up include Daniel Craig's swim trunks and even an Aston Martin featured in one of the movies. Forty lots are being sold in an online auction and bidding is open till October 8th. It is worth an afternoon just to peruse the catalogue. Visit Christies.com for more information.
SHOP: We are majorly lusting after classic menswear pajamas. One of our favorite pairs is Brooks Brothers' Fine Stripe Luxury Pajamas. Don't they make you just want to lounge around, all weekend? $138; available at brooksbrothers.com.
WATCH: "Homeland" just scooped up the Emmy for Best Drama Series, and the show is back this weekend with its second season. We can't wait to see what has happened to Claire Danes' character post shock therapy! Watch on Showtime on Sunday at 10 p.m. ET.
