Let’s just christen the week of June 1 “Caitlyn Jenner Week,” since she’s understandably been dominating every headline, from TMZ to the New York Times, with Vanity Fair kicking off the frenzy Monday, when it revealed the first-ever look at the former Olympian in all her glory. Now, E! has released the first trailer for its new E! docuseries “I am Cait,” which follows the 65-year-old’s life as a transgender woman.
The minute-long clip starts with Caitlyn (formerly Bruce Jenner, but you already knew that) sitting at a vanity, talking gender identity. “So many people go through life and they never deal with their own issues, no matter what the issues are. Ours happen to be gender identity,” Jenner says. “But how many people go through life and just waste an entire life because they never deal with themselves to be who they are.”
We also see her applying makeup, while admitting she’s been “learning kind of the pressure that women are under all the time about their appearance. I never had until a couple of weeks ago actually a professional come in and do my makeup. What a difference!”
The clip also includes a ride in a golf cart “We’re officially off the property! We’re out into the world!” she says, and the narrator informs us the eight-part series will explore what Jenner’s transition means for the people in her life, and those relationships are affected.
The clip ends with Bruce declaring he’s “the new normal.” The series premieres July 26 at 9 p.m.! Watch the trailer below.
