Garnering attention for a collaborative effort can be a daunting task – unless your name is Sebago or VANE New York.
The marine-inspired footwear company embarks on its newest endeavor, the VANE for Sebago Pop-Up Shop on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Sebago, whose history dates back to 1946, is known for its classic attention to detail, impeccable quality and durability. VANE New York has a downtown style and demeanor that puts it at the forefront of emerging brands. So when the official word on the limited-edition collection was released, the buzz spread like wildfire among bloggers and media journalists.
“The collection is a truly unique and fresh take on our classic styles.” said Mike Walls, the director of sales/US Market, at Sebago. “We are already finding that there is a great enthusiasm for them.”
VANE for Sebago will feature a spin on the classic Sebago Spinnaker and Docksides. Differing features include patent leather, contrasting stitches and a range of colors, textures and accents. Like other Sebago shoes, the collection will offer rubber slip-resistant soles and non-corrosive brass eyelets.
“It is a unique opportunity to introduce our classics to an entirely new consumer.” Walls stated.
Selling alongside the VANE for Sebago collection will be the private label jewelry collection by VANE New York, additional Sebago footwear styles, select Sebago apparel pieces and a limited edition t-shirt by graffiti duo Surf and Mint (Mirf).
The duo also created a graffiti mural for the Pop-Up Shop’s front gate.
“We are excited to bring Sebago to Manhattan’s lower east side, where the nautical and boat shoe trends are going strong. We are excited to have this presence in New York.”
The VANE for Sebago Pop-Up Shop is open from March 27th – April 20th but is also available at select retail locations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Montreal, Toronto and Tokyo.
