Forget about diamonds, the perfect pair of jeans is really a girl’s best friend. While I find myself turning to black denim skinnies time and time again, I’ve been trying to find something with a little more personality that’s still basic enough for everyday wear. Luckily, there are plenty of jean experts here at PROJECT, and I polled some of our favorite brands about the predominant denim trends for Fall 2011. I hope you love the seventies, because wide legs and jewel tones are where it’s at.
Earnest Sewn “We’re sticking with the skinny, legging trend for fall, but we’re introducing a new velveteen. We’re doing a lighter color scheme, with lilac, sand and platinum. We also carried over our trouser fit which was extremely popular, and introduced a couple of new colors like moss and chocolate.”
J Brand “Our big story is wide-leg for fall it’s really about a ’70s silhouette. They come in different fits for all body types, so everyone can wear them!”
Jewel tone denim at 7 for all Mankind
7 for all Mankind “Our big story for fall is ‘boot and beyond’ the boot cut is our original fit and put us on the map, and it’s super flattering and leg-lengthening on all body types. Our new style for Fall 2011 is called the aviator, and it’s our updated, cropped version of the military trend.”
Current/Elliott “We are concentrating on mid and high rises for fall, as well as updating the trouser style. We incorporated different fabrications like mixed-denim pieces and velveteen for fall, and are releasing a number of our styles in jewel tones.”
Joe’s Jeans “For fall we developed some awesome new fabrications everything from cashmere blends, to sexy animal prints, to lightweight coated pieces. We have a wide-leg trouser for fall that is in a super soft cashmere denim, and we also have a new micro-flare, which is a skinny fit throughout the leg, but it pops out right above the ankle.”
