Whether you’re a fan or not, there’s no arguing with the fact that Taylor Swift is the biggest pop star on the planet, proven by the fact that her upcoming five gigs at L.A.’s Staples Center are 100% sold out. Still, Swiftie hasn’t forgotten where she came from.
On Thursday, she shared a Throwback Instagram photo of herself at an early gig and lets just say Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham, and Lily Aldridge weren’t bopping around on the sidelines. In what looks like some sort of county fair, the snap showcases a young Taylor near a river, a bunch of concrete, some bridge, a random band, and a sad banner with her name on it.
“Getting ready to play 5 shows at Staples Center in LA this week and reminiscing about what my gigs used to be like,” she captioned the pic.
The photo’s undated, but Swift hit the country music scene in 2007, so it’s a safe bet to assume this was right before that.
It’s pretty nuts to think that in only right years, Swift has cemented her place in music history. Apart from her 224 awards and 480 nominations, she managed to use her platform to take Apple to task, she single-handedly made female friendship one of the biggest topics of the year, and she basically dominated every headline of 2015. All of which makes her #TBT that much more unreal.
