Justin Giunta’s much-lauded line of jewelry, Subversive, is always, always one of the highlights of fashion week. Last season, he had the Rockettes perform a little dance number while draped in his gloriously tangled, magnificently detailed baubles. This season, he went a bit more low-key with an intimate daytime presentation at chic SoHo boutique, Kisan, followed by a markedly rowdier (but still fab and sophisticated, of course), after-party at Bungalow 8. Sadly, I had to miss the presentation due to conflicting show times (pesky overcrowded fashion week schedule!), but made it to the after-party and got to peruse the jewels showcased in glass shelves enroute to the bathrooms. There was a definite ethnic touch to Justin’s designs this season, and my favorites involved tassles like the ones in the photo above.
After sharing glasses of champagne with pals Emily Ford, Tina Langley, Kristian Laliberte, and Timo Weiland, I tottered home whilst munching on a slice of street pizza that my friend Hari Kalyan was kind enough to buy for me. Such is fashion week…..
