Breaking: 90% of women are, in fact, not of model-esque proportions but are average height—between 5″4-5″5. And yet, standard flared jeans are made with a 35-inch inseam, which corresponds to the body of a 5″9 woman.
While the vertically-challenged among us are used to sucking it up and letting our skinny jeans scrunch up around our ankles, there’s no lazy equivalent for flared styles. Stomping around in wide-leg pants that are too long isn’t only unsightly, but also can be a serious safety hazard (you try running up stairs), which kind of leaves us out when it comes to getting on fashion’s current obsession with all thing 1970s. Plus, running to the tailor every time you buy a new pair of jeans is a pricey pain.
Thankfully, tried-and-true denim fave Seven For All Mankind, is gearing up to deliver a solution: This fall, the brand will debut a new line called Tailorless that features flares crafted with 32 and 33-inch inseams, aimed at cutting out the tailoring step altogether. Three styles will debut in August with another four coming in October, with prices ranging from $189-$215, WWD reports.
