It’s no secret that editors always have an agenda, often mapping out what they plan to cover weeks in advance — from cultural events to trends. Here, we share the things we’re really looking forward to covering (and enjoying) each month with you, dear readers, so you can get in on the fun.

September is fall’s official kick-off, and after three months of sweltering temperatures, we can’t wait to throw in our boots and jackets and get ready for Fashion Week. From style-spotting at New York Fashion Week and the MTV Video Music Awards to No Doubt‘s new album and the Emmys, here are some of the things our editors are most excited about this month!

With picks from Fashion Editor Liz Doupnik, Celebrity Editor Spencer Cain, Editorial Director Marni Golden, and Editor-in-Chief Laurel Pinson.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower: September 21

This highly anticipated film adaptation of the book by the same name is set to premiere in late September. We can only hope the movie is as intriguing and entertaining as the book.

Emma Watson's Premiere Looks

As excited as we are for The Perks of Being a Wallflower to hit theaters, we're just as eager to see what Emma Watson wears on the red carpet while promoting the film.

No Doubt's New Album: September 25

We've been fans of No Doubt since the beginning, and we can't wait for Push and Shove, the band's first album since 2001's Rock Steady, to hit stores later this month in all its pop-dancehall glory.

Ten Years: September 14

Ten years, a romantic comedy and drama, is sure to be a hit. With heartthrob Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum at the helm of its star-studded ensemble cast, how could it be anything less?

Thom Browne Fashion Show

One of the few more conceptual designers to show at New York Fashion Week, Thom Browne applies his incredible tailoring technique to womenswear with a purely artistic approach to shape and the use of unexpected materials.

Pumpkin Spiced Latte: September 4

Nothing says fall like a Pumpkin Spiced Latte from Starbucks. The arrival of this delicious brew is something we look forward to every year. Get yours starting September 4.

Bachelorette: September 7

Starring Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan, among others, this wild and debauchery-filled comedy is one we can't wait to see.

Dark Lips

As much as we love our colorful summer glosses, few things are as sexy as the moody, dark glamour of deep wine-stained lips like the ones seen on the Fall '12 runway at Gucci. We can't wait to try the look ourselves!

Beyonce's Birthday: September 4

We love Beyonce, and this year the fabulous songstress is turning 31. We're eager to see how she celebrates, and more importantly, what Blue Ivy's mom will wear.

New Handbag Lines!

This month, two of our favorite labels are debuting brand-new handbag lines for fall. Opening Ceremony's new bags are as colorful and cheery as you'd expect, while shoe label Loeffer Randall's debut bags are chic and functional.

Sarah Jessica Parker will make her return to the small screen this September as a Glee cast member. The fashionista will play the role of a Vogue editor whose wardrobe is inspired and styled by Anna Wintour. That being said, we are dying to see what she wears.

Fashion Month only offers more reasons to see the style maven in all manner of feathery, furry, bedazzled accoutrements.

Toronto International Film Festival: September 2 - September 16

The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious events of its kind, and this year's schedule is quite impressive.

Chelsea Boots

With the 1960s being an ongoing trend for fall, Chelsea boots are the optimal footwear choice when it comes to boots this season. We especially love the colored options like Marc by Marc Jacobs' pair seen here.

Christopher Kane Fashion Show

Quickly becoming one of the hottest shows to catch during London Fashion Week, Christopher Kane always presents bright and exuberant collections with a much needed sense of humor seen especially in his prints and patterns.

The addicting reality talent show The Voice is coming back for another season on NBC. Hopefully this season be just as entertaining as the last two, with Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine continuing to clash.

The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind: September 18

Ben Folds Five is back together, and we couldn't be any happier. The best part? The group is releasing a reunion album this month. Can you think of a better way to bring you back to high school?

The Words: September 7

This September is proving to be a solid month for movie premieres. We're dying to watch Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana and Dennis Quad's performances in their upcoming thriller The Words

Zoe Saldana's Premiere Looks

Aside from actually seeing the production, one of the best parts of new movies is the premiere events that come along with them. This September, we're more than excited to see what Zoe Saldana brings to the red carpet.

While a chic pump or a bold platform may be in vogue this season, we're relieved that there's also been a return to eye-catching flats like these colorful patent lace-ups from Dieppa Restrepo.

Michelle Williams' Birthday: September 9

Beyonce isn't the only celebrity with an approaching birthday. Michelle Williams turns 32 next month, and we'll definitely be celebrating by taking a look back at her best looks.

Centipede Hz: September 4

As if the release of No Doubt and Ben Folds Five's albums isn't going to provide us with enough great, new music, Animal Collective also is coming out with another album next month.

Transitioning our closets to cooler climates can be a challenge. We're loving jumpsuits with adorable t-shirts and blouses layered underneath or worn alone with a wide-brimmed hat.

666 Park Avenue: September 30

The premiere of new TV shows is something we look forward to every fall, and this year, there are a few programs on our radar. 666 Park Avenue, a chilling drama, is definitely one of them.

Purple Diary's Party Photos

We've been longtime readers of Purple Magazine's creator, Olivier Zahm's blog, Purple Diary. As fashion season commences, we can't wait to tag along with this globetrotter as he frolics to parties, openings and front-row fashion show seats.
