On Monday night, I had the pleasure of starting off my week by celebrating with the School of American Ballet at their Winter Ball at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater. It was a double celebration, as this year also marks the 75th Anniversary of the school. The festive mood was evident as an interesting mix of celebrities, socials, and politicos mingled, ate, and eventually got down on the dance floor together for a dance party that could’ve rivaled the scene in the back room of Beatrice (floor-length evening gowns excluded).
Highlights of the evening for moi included: watching a pièce d’occasion performed by the School’s students and choreographed by Adam Hendrickson (SAB alumnus and New York City Ballet Soloist), witnessing Blake Lively and Penn Badgley (of Gossip Girl fame) dancing in the midst of a gaggle of excited prepubescent ballerina fans, drooling over SJP‘s AMAZING shoes, Kate Davidson Hudson‘s outrageously beautiful Oscar de la Renta gown, running into friends Emily Ford and Harold Ford for the second time this week, dancing the night away with pals Kristian Laliberte and Devorah Rose, and finally, a post-event bacon cheeseburger at P.J. Clarke’s across the street from Lincoln Center before speeding home in a taxi, exhausted and happy. xoxo
