Ryan Gosling Calls Life with Eva Mendes and Daughters ‘Like Walking Through a Field of Flowers’

You know when you drink way too much coffee and you can’t shut up and you wind up saying something really stupid or over the top? Well, that’s just what happened to Ryan Gosling this morning on “Good Morning America.” We get that being wed to Eva Mendes and having two baby girls is great and all, but Gosling just couldn’t contain his excitement. The notoriously private star—after all, news of baby number two didn’t break until a few days ago, though she was born April 29—positively gushed about daddy life to host Amy Robach.

Calling his way of life these days “heaven,” he went on to say, “It’s like walking through a field of flowers every day. I live with angels. It’s a ray of sunshine.” For those of you who don’t know every single tiny detail of his life (is there anyone out there who fits that description at this point?), he and Mendes have two daughters, Esmeralda Amada and Amada Lee. (Amada in Spanish means “beloved.”)

Before you roll your eyes to the high heavens, keep in mind that Gosling started the segment by asking Robach where he should look (“Just look at me! I’ve waited my whole life to say that to you!” she said) and adding, “I’ve had a lot of coffee, and I’m about to crash into the rocks.” And crash he did. But he did so in that adorable, deadpan, slightly awkward, totally Gosling way, so—who cares?
