Runway to Real Way: Jason Wu’s Dressy White Short Suit

Blair Pfander

You already have the perfect white tee, a little white dress, maybe even a pair of white jeans. But this spring, there’s a new addition to our stable of white spring wardrobe workhouses: the new white suit. Suits in general had a major “moment” on spring ’13 catwalks, cropping up everywhere from Rachel Zoe to Tory Burch and J.Crew.

Our favorite iteration of the trend, however, marched down the runway at Jason Wu, where he paired a semi-sheer white blazer with high-rise white shorts and a graphic black and white blouse. The look—sophisticated enough for an office setting but edgy enough to wear to drinks after hours—had a decidedly dressier feel than counterparts from other collections, enhanced by its trim, ultra-tailored fit and the addition of metallic pointy-toe pumps.

The outfit may be luxe, but you don’t need a Jason Wu budget to bag the ensemble: here, 9 affordable retail options that will “suit” you to a T.
