Unfortunate name aside, classic pussy-bow blouses—button-downs characterized by a floppy tie at the neck—are back in a very big, very cool way.

Gucci’s Alessandro Michele reinterpreted the feminine shirt—previously associated with Margaret Thatcher, 1950s secretaries, and ’80s-era career women—giving it a youthful, quirky, almost tomboyish spin by pairing it with wide-leg suits and metallic midi skirts on models with cool-girl hair and oversize specs. At Chloé, Clare Waight Keller opted for slimmer bows, giving the look a more bohemian vibe. At Pucci, pussy bows were done up in sleek black lace.

To prove exactly why you need to consider adding the versatile piece to your fall wardrobe, check out these photos that show how designers styled the pussy bow for fall, as well as 13 to buy now.
