There’s a lot to be thankful for when it comes to Ikea, not the least of which are some pretty genius hacks. If you need a mattress in a pinch that won’t put you into debt, the Swedish megastore is your place.
But one of the ways Ikea manages to keep costs so low is with the lack of extra design elements—interesting brass knobs or sleek, stylized sofa are completely taken out of the picture.
But wherever there’s a problem, there’s always a way to fix it, which is what a very smart company called Prettypegs does.
The Swedish company (which has no affiliation with Ikea) produces a huge assortment of legs—from classic to modern to midcentury—to up the design ante on Ikea’s lines of chairs, beds, tables, sofas, and more.
It’s easy to use, too: Once you pick the kind of pegs you want (most come in sets of four), select which fitting plate you need to attach them to your furniture.
Shipping to the U.S. adds an extra $11 for an order of one set, but think of it this way—adding these pegs to your Ikea couch is kind of like adding a pair of amazing shoes to an outfit—and we all know what that can do.
