This week I attended the Mode Museum in Antwerp’s retrospective on high fashion hat designer Stephen Jones, entitled “Stephen Jones & The Accent of Fashion.” The infamous museum hosted over 300 items of Jones’ past work. Most notably one-hundred and twenty pieces were on lend from collector (and co-curator) Geert Bruloot. In addition to Bruloot, Kaat Debo, the museum director, gave us a look at the fantasy worlds the artist has created over the past three decades. The curators shared with us his collaborations that range from Comme des Garcon to John Galliano. Nearly one thousand fans gathered in this small fashion village (with the additional glamour of Diane Pernet, Tavi and Walter Van Beirendonck) to celebrate haute couture hat-istry.
