The gang’s all here! Though Pamela Anderson won’t be reprising her signature role of C.J. Parker on “Baywatch”—Kelly Rohrbach already has that on lockdown—she will be joining the cast of the iconic ’90s series as they shoot a film set to premiere next May, as Complex reports. She’ll appear along with David Hasselhoff, who signed on for an appearance in the R-rated film last month.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, playing Mitch Buchannon in the upcoming movie, is taking his torch-bearing very seriously, announcing the news on Instagram last night along with uploading pretty much exclusively “Baywatch”-related pics to IG of late. “She introduced the world to ‘CJ Parker’ and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation – for the most successful TV show of all time,” The Rock wrote. “A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #BAYWATCH cast.”
What we really want to know, obviously, is whether Anderson shall be donning some iteration of her famous red swimsuit. Though Rohrbach has been flouncing around in an updated version, with a zipper down to there, it seems sacrilegious for the original “Baywatch” babe to hit the beach in anything else. As the Rock put it, “We couldn’t have made this movie without you.” Probably not entirely true, but she’s certainly a welcome addition.
It’s not clear whether she and Hasselhoff will just do cameos, appealing to a generation that already knows and loves the show, or if they’ll have full-on roles in the feature. If you can’t wait until next spring, the new crew, which also includes Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario and Priyanka Chopra, has been shooting in Georgia.
