From Oprah to Jennifer Aniston: A Look At Our Favorite “30 Rock” Celebrity Cameos

After seven seasons, NBC’s beloved series “30 Rock” is coming to a close tonight. Apart from the huge amount of laughs the show has brought us over the years, its list of guest stars is equally as impressive. While all the famous folks who’ve appeared on the show were entertaining, it was especially fascinating to see normally serious actors in silly “Rock” roles, such as John Slattery in a baby costume and James Franco as an anime-crazed fiend.

“30 Rock” managed to snag scores of A-Listers (Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston and Steve Martin, to name a few), and even politician Al Gore, in an eco-conscious episode, so in honor of tonight’s series finale, we’ve prepared a guide to our favorite “30 Rock” guest stars.

Oprah Winfrey, Season 3, Episode 2: "Believe in the Stars"

The talk-show icon played herself on the show, sitting next to a hallucinating Liz Lemon. Liz tried to take advantage of the situation by using her as a sounding board for all of her problems. In the end, Oprah turned out to be entirely an illusion caused by a very potent drug. Happens to the best of us!

Jennifer Aniston, Season 3, Episode 3: "The One with the Cast of 'Night Court'"

The "Friends" actress plays an old friend of Liz's who enjoys heavy partying and using men for their money, and seduces Jack (Alec Baldwin) in a "Fatal Attraction" style scenario.

David Schwimmer, Season 2, Episode 5: "Greenzo"

The "Friends" actor played Jared, a.k.a. Greenzo, a mascot for global warming awareness with a major ego problem. Oh, and wore neon green and spandex to play the part (duh).

Al Gore, Season 2, Episode 5: "Greenzo" and Season 4, Episode 6: "Sun Tea"

The politician played himself in the "30 Rock" episode about global warming, naturally. When David Schwimmer's character bit off more than he could chew, Jack tried to enlist Al Gore to step in, but he was obviously too busy for such small matters. In another episode, he helped the office make some environmentally friendly moves like making a garden out of a dirty snack table. His trademark line was, "A whale is in trouble."

James Franco, Season 4, Episode 9: "Klaus and Greta"

Liz Lemon and James Franco (as a creepier version of himself) had a whacky threesome with an anime pillow named Komiko.

Steve Martin, Season 3 Episode 4: "Gavin Volure"

Steve Martin plays Liz Lemon's love interest, Gavin Volure, who is a highly agoraphobic businessman. Seemingly a perfect match for her antisocial self, he ends up breaking her heart when she finds out that he's a criminal.

Jon Hamm, Seasons 3–6

The "Mad Men" actor plays Liz Lemon's boyfriend, Dr. Drew Baird, who apparently lives in a bubble and hasn't had many life experiences because of his good looks. On the show, he is also offered a modeling contract with Calvin Klein. When it comes to recurring guest stars, he's definitely the best.

Matt Damon, Season 5, Episode 1: "The Fabian Strategy"

The actors stars as Carol Burnett, an airline captain who dates Liz briefly, but eventually broke up due to both of their stubborn personalities.

John Slattery, Season 5, Episode 7: "Brooklyn Without Limits"

The "Mad Men" star played John Austin, a Rhode Island Tea Party political candidate that Jack Donaghy supported until he found out that he completely lost his mind. He was even featured in a campaign ad dressed as a baby with a rattle and shotgun as props.

Salma Hayek, Season 3

The actress stars as Elisa, Jack's serious girlfriend. After a few episodes, it is revealed that Elisa had murdered her first husband. Following this news, Jack deemed her an unsuitable mate.
