Lager lovers, ale aficionados, barley buffs, and yeast yearners (too far?): this is your week—;the New York Craft Beer Week, that is. The world’s oldest alcoholic beverage will be celebrated at 83 venues across the five boroughs this week, with over 150 specialty beers to quench any cream stout craving or draft beer desire. The event features beer journalist-guided “dive bar” tours, a scavenger hunt at the Brooklyn Brewery, beer symposiums at The French Culinary, street food beer walks, and a how-to on brewing your own beer.

There will also be a variety of walking tours through breweries and bar-ridden neighborhoods, beer strolls, harvest festivals, and even biking and drinking tours of Brooklyn, and, of course, nightly pub crawls through the East and West Villages and Hell’s Kitchen. Zagat’s will be sponsoring several one-time-only Beer Dinners at some of New York’s best restaurants such as Per Se, Tabla and Resto, as well as House Specials—;three courses and select craft beer for $40—;at restaurants like The Good Fork and The Redhead.
For the truly dedicated beer lover, the event offers a $35 passport, which gets you $2 beers at all participating bars (like Bar Great Harry and anotheroom), reduced Beer Walk rates and other pint-related perks.
