From cultural events, to trends, to holiday activities, here are the things we’re really looking forward to covering (and enjoying) this month with you, dear readers, so you can get in on the fun.
November is when the holiday season really gets in full swing, from Thanksgiving to Christmas and Hanukkah preparations. It is also a time to shop till you drop for everything from Lanvin boots to $50 million Picasso paintings. And it is also a rare month with extra days off to spend with your family and friends, over delicious eggnog of course.

Here, 30 things that we are looking forward to in the month of November from a wine auction to James Bond "Skyfall."

One exhibit on our must go to list during November is the London V&A's ballgowns exhibit. The exhibit features more than sixty designs created for social events such as private parties, royal balls, state occasions, and opening nights (in other words, its fantasy land). For more information visit

The movie "The Details" opens November 2 and follows the infidelity of bored husband Tobey Maguire. Definitely worth catching it while its in theaters.

Who doesn't love a good holiday window? Some of the most impressive are at Selfridges in London which are already on display. The windows recreate scenes from photographer Bruce Weber campaigns, complete with miniature ponies, a lavish Christmas sleepover and a giant Selfridges gingerbread house. For more information visit

A movie that is on our radar is "A Late Quartet" about members of a world-renowned string quartet trying to stay together, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christopher Walken and Catherine Keener. The movie hits theaters November 2.

"Turandot" by Giacomo Puccini is on the stage at the Metropolitan Opera November 5. For culture buffs its a performance that is not to be missed. For more information visit

The two best shoe brands in the world, Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin are going to head to head with two of the biggest sample sales during the month of November. The Manolo Blahnik sale is set for Novmeber 6 and 7 at the Warwick Hotel in New York City. Meanwhile Christian Louboutin's sample sale will begin November 5, but is strictly invitation only and takes place at the brand's New York City showroom.

Don't forget to vote on November 6 in the presidential election. Polls are tight, so no matter what side you fall on, make sure your vote is heard. That night head to an election party!

The play "All That Fall" by Samuel Beckett will be on the London stage starting on November 6 starring Eileen Atkins and Michael Gambon. For more information visit

Sotheby's is holding its impressionist and modern art evening sale on November 8. Pablo Picasso's "Nature Morte Aux Tulipes" could fetch up to $50 million. For more information visit

Nothing gets us excited quite like a wine auction. Christie's in London on November 8 is holding a fine and rare wines auction featuring Romanée-Conti Grand Cru that could fetch up to $64,320. For more information visit

One of the only redeeming features of it being cold outside in November is that you can feel free to wear fur (or faux fur). The best thing about Otte's Finn raccoon collar ($385, is that it dresses up everything from a cocktail frock to a jacket.

Seeing the Rockettes during the holiday season is a tradition for the ages (the Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring The Rockettes is now in its 85th year). The show kicks off on November 9. For more information visit

Its here, its finally here. See Daniel Craig be cooler than cool in the latest James Bond movie "Skyfall" that hits theaters November 9.

On November 11 Antiquorum auction house is holding its modern and vintage timepieces auction in Geneva. Our favorite item up for auction is this Patek Philippe yellow gold watch which is expected to fetch upwards of $210,000. For more information visit

Barney's and The Walt Disney Company have teamed up for the holidays on a campaign entitled "Electric Holiday" which will be unveiled November 14. Barneys’ Madison Avenue flagship will feature a three-dimensional electric light show and a moving art short film in the window displays.

A retrospective of George Bellows' career will be on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City starting November 15. For more information visit

On November 15 a new exhibit dedicated to all things Pop will be on display at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York City. The exhibit Dark and Deadpan: Pop in TV and the Movies, brings together rarely seen films, advertisements, and political campaign messages. For more information visit

You've waited for months for boot weather to arrive, and its finally here in November. Lanvin's brocade and neoprene thigh high boots ($2,885, combine fashion and function perfectly.

Istanbul '74 will be exhibiting Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe's work on November 20 at Karakoy. The artists have prepared unique pieces especially for the show. For more information visit

One of our favorite parts about Thanksgiving is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Watching the giant balloons get inflated the night before on November 21 is also a particularly fun treat. The action starts around 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve between 77th and 81st Streets between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. Public viewing is from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The actual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is also an event not to be missed on November 22. Some of the best viewing spots are in the apartments that face the parade.

For those looking for the perfect Thanksgiving dinner on November 22 that doesn't involve slaving away in the kitchen for days on end our personal favorite is the one offered by New York City standby Gotham Bar and Grill. Its a three course menu that includes butternut squash soup, organic free range turkey, and warm apple streudel. For more information visit

The day after Thanksgiving (November 23) there is a national shopping holiday of sorts. Ok, Black Friday isn't actually a national holiday, but it sure feels like one with crowds hitting stores like Best Buy and Walmart looking for the best deals possible on flatscreen TVs. One has to wonder, is everyone in it for the flat screen TVs or the sport of it all?

With holiday party season in full swing in November, its time to go party dress shopping. We are loving this particularly holiday appropriate red Michael Kors sequined lace dress ($10,003,

Its that time of year again, eggnog time! We have vetted just about every eggnog on the market and top marks go to Rommybrook Farm Dairy's version. Add just a touch of whiskey, and there is no better drink to enjoy November over.

A Capitol Christmas Tree has been a tradition in the US since 1964. The tree will be lit by Speaker of the House John Boehner at a ceremony in Washington, DC on November 26.

Cool mountain nights and a sun shade keep the outdoor Sun Valley Ice Rink open even during the summer. A part of the ritzy Sun Valley Lodge, the rink mounts annual ice shows with Olympic medalist headliners, and there is no better time to enjoy it than November. For more information visit

Shopping for stocking stuffers? One of our favorites is legendary Moscow department store TsUM modern Matryoshka nesting dolls the store commissions artists to designer every year. Now it is just a matter of getting to Moscow.

Sure you've walked around the Champs-Élysées, but have you walked around the Champs-Élysées in November? During the holidays the famous street is adorned with 6,562 feet of holiday lights.

Target + Neiman Marcus' hotly anticipated holiday collaboration hits stores and online December 1, which means you are going to want to line up starting November 30. We will be making a beeline for the Altuzarra for Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection old fashioned glasses ($49.99), shaker ($49.99), and tray ($79.99). For more information visit
