Madonna Takes A Cue From The Bitter Katy Perry Playbook

Last month at the Grammys, Katy Perry premiered a new single clearly dedicated to her ex-hubby Russell Brand. The song, “Part of Me,” is about finding yourself after a negative relationship that forced you to compromise who you are for the sake of your partner.

Despite the fact that Katy is now running all over town saying any lyrics in the song that resemble her life are coincidental, she’s definitely just doing damage control — there is no way this song wasn’t meant to cause a stir. Now, the woman who made the careers of today’s pop idols possible, the incomparable Madonna, seems to be channeling Perry with her latest single, “I Don’t Give A.”

Off her upcoming album MDNA, “I Don’t Give A” is said to be aimed at her ex-husband Guy Ritchie. Lyrics include “I tried to be a good girl/I tried to be your wife/Diminished myself/And I swallowed my light/I tried to become all/That you expect of me/And if it was a failure/I don’t give a [bleep].”

Naturally, the British press is going apesh*t since they heavily covered Ritchie and Madge’s 8 year marriage. Although Madonna never lets anyone see her sweat, it was very apparent that the divorce took a lot out of her.

What do you think? Is this immature or awesome?
