I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a stationery snob. I love the feel of a good, heavy cardstock—the thicker, the better—and picking the right style of invitation to go with that beautiful paper is just as important. Which is why letterpress, where the ink is essentially pressed into the paper, is such a lovely option.
Because the movable type (usually from an old-school printing press, no less) leaves a slight indentation on the paper, you’re left with a dynamic “relief,” where the text is slightly lower than the rest of the invitation. It’s timeless, chic, and super romantic. But that’s just my opinion.
And just because the methodology is old-school doesn’t mean you’re stuck with traditional, boring designs. If you want modern, there’s modern. And if your heart is set on calligraphy, that can happen, too. We’ve rounded up 25 of our favorite letterpress invitations that are sure to impress your wedding guests.
