You gotta hand it to Kanye West, the guy doesn’t give up on his dreams. Despite winning Grammys, selling over 21 million albums, and marrying a Kardashian, West really, really wants to make it as a fashion designer, no matter how many times he has to try.
After finally getting a little bit of credit from the fashion crowd last season, when he staged a runway spectacle for his Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost sneaker that showcased serious-looking models (and Kylie Jenner) in nude body suits and army jackets, the rapper is back at it.
Given his show wasn’t on the fashion calendar this season, nobody was sure if Yeezy had a second runway show up his sleeve but, in true maverick style, he sprung the news on editors that he indeed would be debuting another Adidas collection with a surprise show on Wednesday.
By now, you’ve probably seem plenty of Instagrams and tweets about it—people are acting like the president of the United States decided to scrap politics and become a fashion designer—so instead of giving you the same rundown you’ve surely seen, we pose this question: Why was Kanye’s sister-in-law and reigning supermodel Kendall Jenner relegated to the second row?!
Your guess is as good as ours, but here’s what we got.
1. Because Kendall doesn’t send out the Met Gala invites.
2. Because she’s dating Miguel.
JK. But maybe.
3. Because she’s not nearly as important to Kanye as Seth Meyers.
Who sat right next to Anna. In sunglasses.
4. Or Michael Strahan.
5. Or Lorde.
She’s front and center, too.
6. Or Lana Del Rey.
Fine, Kendall didn’t sing at Kanye’s wedding.
7. Because she showed up late after closing the Michael Kors show an hour before.
A private driver isn’t a pilot, guys.
8. Because Kendall isn’t Kylie, who was IN the show.
Who’s the black sheep now?
