When you have the most Twitter followers in the world, you’d think you’d have a password with a body scanner in it. But no. Turns out Katy Perry, singer and esteemed leader of 89 million Twitter followers, has a password (or had, pray tell) that’s simple enough to be broken by a hacker whose ambitions extend no further than 25 characters.
Among the basic hacker fare (racial and homophobic slurs) tweeted, the real gem was a shout-out to Taylor Swift. She and Katy both dated John Mayer and have not been on good terms since 2014 when Taylor told Rolling Stone that her song “Bad Blood” was about an unidentified pop star who tried to steal her backup singers.”She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,” Swift said. “She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.” That singer is believed to be Perry, so is it any surprise that the rift is fair game to the world’s least ambitious hacker?
