A Kate Middleton doppelgänger has surfaced from the unlikeliest of places: Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, from the French Olympic cycling team. It’s not that strange, actually—every Olympics season, celebrity look-alikes are plucked from the hefty ranks of athletes. Perhaps it’s partly because everyone gets a little bored watching certain sports and needs some side entertainment, or maybe it’s because, in the sheer numbers of Olympians, you’re bound to find a few people in there who resemble someone else. For example, in 2014, Russian ice dancer Elena Ilinykh was compared to Mila Kunis, and US bobsledder Lolo Jones was pointed out to look just like Rashida Jones.
This year, though Ferrand-Prevot came in 26th in the women’s road race final, she has been bestowed with the dubious honor of closely resembling Middleton. They definitely have some similarities, especially in the smiles and noses. If Ferrand-Prevot were to go brunette, it’d be more obvious, but when they both have their hair up (Ferrand-Prevot topped with a helmet and Middleton topped with a fascinator), they perhaps could be mistaken for one another from a bit of a distance.
Certainly the resemblance is more striking that the other celeb doppelgänger team that has been swirling around this year’s Olympics, Brady Ellison-Leonardo DiCaprio. Nope, not seeing it. But as to Ferrant-Prevot and Middleton—well, sure. Perhaps we should take to calling her Duchess Pauline.
