By now, it’s imperative that anything Kanye West posts to Twitter should be taken with a grain of salt—which is why when we saw that the mercurial rapper tweeted that he was $53 million in debt, we did a little extra digging and found that the number actually reflects how much West has spent on his fashion and music ventures.

That hasn’t stopped an eager Kanye fan from attempting to help Yeezy. One Jeremy Piatt of Minneapolis started a GoFundMe account for Kanye, so that the “true genius of Kanye West can be realized.”

Piatt’s description for the account uses Kanye’s series of tweets, post-debt reveal, to help drum up support for West, and even ends with one of Kanye’s own quotes about his favorite subject: himself. “I am Warhol. I am the number one most impactful artist of our generation. I am Shakespeare in the flesh. Walt Disney. Nike. Google. Now who’s gonna be the Medici family and stand up and let me create more!”

So far, the GoFundMe has raised $444 of the $53 million goal from 74 individual donors, most of whom have taken the opportunity to share their personal feelings on Mr. West, or to use it as their own advertising platform. However, since it’s only a couple of days into the fund-raiser, there’s still plenty of time to reach that $53 mill—maybe Mark Zuckerberg will contribute, since Kanye so kindly reached out to him about investing recently.
