Hedi Slimane may have been quietly moving around the fashion industry since he rocked the menswear world by unmooring himself as Dior Homme creative director last year. But that doesn’t mean he has been doing nothing.
The designer and photographer has in fact been quite busy, as evidenced in the announcement that the agency Art + Commerce will now be representing the highly influential image-maker, whose work has appeared in magazines like Purple, Dazed & Confused and Vanity Fair. He has also published numerous books of photography. The subjects are often black and white images of teenage boys, much like the scruffy, scrappy, skinny-legged young androgynous men he sent down the runway as a designer.
The multi-talented Slimane doesn’t stop at clothes and photos. He has also curated art exhibitions, designed furniture for Comme des Garçons and designed architectural spaces.
We’re just happy Hedi has a home again. We’re excited to see what he does next.
