Fall 2014 Trend: Into the Woods

This fall, more than a few runway shows could have started with the words “once upon a time” thanks to dreamy touches right out of a fairy tale.

Dolce & Gabbana led the charge with its enchanted forest collection that featured—among other things—hooded capes embroidered with literal foxes; while Valentino took us into the woods with evening gowns that featured butterflies, branches, and leaves.

Other designers such as Tracy Reese and Tess Giberson used actual wintry bare tree applications, adding a bit of mystery to basic pieces and making this woodsy vibe one of the season’s most compelling trends.
