Buckle up, “Empire” addicts, because the full season two trailer is finally here—and it’s nothing short of amazing.
Fox previously released a quick, 30-second teaser for the upcoming season, but now we have a bonafide trailer that gives more insight into what we can expect when the show returns in September.
It’s only a minute and 10 seconds long, but there’s a lot of drama promised in the new clip. Within seconds, we see footage of the #FreeLucious concert, Cookie visiting Lucious in prison, and Andre telling the company, “My first order of business is to remove Lucious Lyon as CEO.”
Expect two notable guest stars this season too, with both Chris Rock and Oscar winner Marisa Tomei appearing in the trailer. Tomei plays a venture capitalist and Rock is behind bars with Lucious.
Season two will arrive September 23 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox, but in the meantime watch the trailer for yourself right here.
And if that’s not enough to hold you over, perhaps this bit of news will: During the recent TCA summer press tour, “Empire” co-creator Lee Daniels’ announced that a spinoff is “without question” going to happen. “There’s so much ripe story that we’ve talked about already—about Cookie’s family, what makes her her,” he said.
