Australian designer Kym Ellery can be credited with single-handedly sparking fashion’s obsession with super-flared trousers and exaggerated bell sleeves. Her signature shape became such a hit over the past season that it swiftly trickled down through fast-fashion retailers such as Zara, ASOS, Pixie Market, and Loeil, each of which is currently selling Ellery-“inspired” pieces.
But, like any innovative label, Ellery is pushing its beloved silhouette forward, releasing a five-piece denim collection Tuesday at her Fall 2016 Paris Fashion Week show.
“I wanted to introduce a more casual component to our collection for the Ellery woman to enjoy,” the designer told us. “But I wanted to do so without compromising the brand’s values. The collection embraces our signature silhouettes, but also some classic denim styles.”
In keeping with her traditional shape, three of the pieces center around a dramatic flare design, but there’s also a high-waist pair and a classic boyfriend jean. Prepare your bank accounts accordingly, because pieces range from $690 to $890, and you’re definitely going to want to own one of these when the line drops next fall.
