In Hollywood, cat fights are just about as common as plastic surgery and designer labels.

Whether it’s someone’s rock star ex-husband or the originality of a chart-topping hit song, celebrities always seem to be arguing about something. From the decade-long war of words between famed singer-songwriter Elton John and the Queen of Pop Madonna, to the supermodel showdown between Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell, there have been more famous feuds throughout the years than we can count.

In light of the recent clash between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, we decided to take a look at some of Hollywood’s biggestt and best cat fights.

Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey: The most recent diva feud took place earlier this week during an “American Idol” audition in Charlotte, North Carolina. A heated argument between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey — both new judges on the show — broke out after a disagreement regarding one of the auditionees. Minaj, an outspoken rapper, cursed out Carey, a notoriously difficult-to-deal-with pop star, and the other two judges, Randy Jackson and newcomer Keith Urban, were caught in the middle.

Rumors of tension between Carey and Minaj surfaced shortly after the audition process began last month, and we doubt this will be the last time these celebrities cause drama on the set. Oh, and it's just been reported that Mariah hired extra security since she's scared that Nicki will have a violent outburst.

Beyoncé vs. Keri Hilson: We love Beyoncé, but apparently Keri Hilson doesn't share our sentiments. The “Pretty Girl Rock” singer used her music to take a jab at Beyoncé back in 2008 when she wrote a remix of “Turnin Me On” that supposedly called Beyoncé out for her inability to write her own music and used a line from "Irreplaceable." Then at the 2011 Soul Train Music Awards, Hilson refused to hold up a copy of Juicy Magazine after she saw Beyoncé was on the cover. It seems as if Hilson might be jealous of Beyoncé's undeniable success, but maybe there's something more to this feud.

Heather Locklear vs. Denise Richards: Our moms always warned us to never let a boy get in the way of a friendship, but apparently Heather Locklear and Denise Richards didn’t get that memo. These best friends called it quits after Richards began dating Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora almost immediately after Locklear divorced him. Richards learned the hard way what happens when you date a best friend’s ex, and a war commenced between the actresses. Fortunately, the pair seems to have patched things up, and Locklear even gave Richards and her ex-husband her blessing.

Christina Aguilera vs. Britney Spears: A feud between Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears should come as no surprise. These two pop princesses have been pitted against one another ever since they got their start on the Mickey Mouse Club. The competition between the blonde-haired songstresses continued as they both found immense success with their catchy pop tunes that dominated radios during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Now both famed performers act as judges on similar reality talent shows and continue to compete with one another professionally.

Lindsay Lohan vs. Hilary Duff: Heather Locklear and Denise Richards aren't the only stars who have fought over a guy. In 2003, a cat fight commenced between “Parent Trap” star Lindsay Lohan and “Lizzie McGuire” actress Hilary Duff after Lohan discovered Duff was dating her ex-boyfriend, singer Aaron Carter. The pair traded countless rude remarks, and Duff released a song titled “Haters,” which supposedly was aimed at Lohan and came about as a result of their situation. The boyfriend battle lasted for years, but eventually both girls got over Carter and put an end to their bickering.

Tyra Banks vs. Naomi Campbell:In a heartfelt and dramatic televised makeup session back in 2005, Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell finally put an end to their 15 year long battle. Similar to Spears and Aguilera, these two supermodels were both working in the same industry and competing with one another to be the best. Apparently, neither women could handle the heat and took their insecurities out on one another with harsh comments and trash talking.

Brandy vs. Monica: In the late 1990s, two of the biggest names in R&B became wrapped up in a highly publicized fight that's rumored to have come to physical blows backstage at the 1998 VMAs. Brandy and Monica, who created the hit song "The Boy Is Mine" together, had some seriously bad blood with one another, and while details of the pair's argument are murky, it was one of the most talked about altercations of the decade. Fortunately, like many of the feuding frenemies on our list, Brandy and Monica eventually made up.

Paris Hilton vs. Nicole Richie:The reason behind Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s famous feud has never actually been confirmed. Some claim Richie was jealous of her best friend while others believe she just wanted to leave behind a life of wild partying. Fortunately, the two reconciled in 2006 to film another season of “The Simple Life,” and although they might not be attached at the hip anymore, both stars seem to be doing their best to maintain the peace.

Madonna vs. Elton John: The squabble between singer-songwriter Elton John and Queen of Pop Madonna dates back a decade when John bashed Madonna’s song for the James Bond film “Die Another Day,” calling it the worst Bond tune ever. But he didn't stop there. From accusing her of lip syncing to declaring her career over, John is not shy when it comes to dissing Madonna. A reconciliation might be in the works though as Madonna seems to have forgiven John's harsh words and recently dedicated a song to him while performing in France.

Lady Gaga vs. MadonnaElton John isn't the only celebrity Madonna is caught in a cat fight with, but in this battle, the Queen of Pop is the one dishing out the spiteful speech. Madonna is convinced Lady Gaga's hit song "Born This Way" is a rip off of her 1989 track "Express Yourself," and she's been making digs at the younger pop star every chance she gets.
