You could throw your hair into a ponytail (yawn), or instead bust out one of your best summer beauty moves – braids. With so many different braid techniques nowadays, you have tons of options to choose from, so get those fingers working and try one of these 10 easy ‘dos that you can style in under 15 minutes!

French Braid

ImaxTree

Whether you’re headed to the gym or beach, a classic French braid is a super easy way to style your hair in a short amount of time. Brush your hair back and rid it of any tangles so you can easily add sections of hair to your braid without getting your fingers caught. Keep everything super tight to get this polished look that’ll stay in place all day!

Braid

This messy braid is girly, fun and so easy to pull off in a time crunch. Working best on day old curled hair, use a texture powder to give your hair some hold and leave the front messy with face framing pieces. Finish off with some hairspray so it doesn’t get too messy!

Fishtail Braid

ImaxTree

A fishtail braid is one of our favorite ways to switch things up from our regular braid! Cross smaller sections of your hair for this sleek look, or use larger pieces and pull it apart for a more mussed up feel. Either way, it’ll only take you minutes to get this one down!

Braid Ponytail

Don’t even have enough time to finish the whole braid? No problem! Brush your hair back as if you were putting it in a ponytail and set it with a small amount of product. Only French braid (or fishtail French braid for an even cuter look!) the upper section of your hair and secure it with an elastic at the nape of your neck.

Braided Pigtails

ImaxTree

If you thought braided pigtails were a thing of the past, think again. Give yourself a deep side part and lace braid one side of your hair down to your ear, then continue with a normal three-strand braid. Do the same on the other side and boom, glam braids in minutes!

Braid

More braids doesn’t necessarily mean more time. Before you start braiding, section your hair off into three sections: two smaller in the front and one larger in the back. Braid the two smaller sections back and secure them each with a clear elastic. Next, incorporate them into the remaining hair, which you will then again split into three sections and braid as normal.

Half Up Fishtail Braid

ImaxTree

You’re only working with half your hair, so you know this look will take no time. Perfect for textured and tousled hair, section off the top of your hair to the crown and fishtail braid it back. Pull it apart or throw in some quick curls for a messier look.

4 Strand Braid

ImaxTree

Instead of a simple over the shoulder braid, change things up with this four-strand braid instead. Super easy to style, the “over under, under over” weaving motion will only take you minutes to do! Hair with a little grit will work better, so again use a texturizing spray or use this look on second day hair.

Wet Hair Braid

ImaxTree

Especially if you’ve just jumped out of the shower and need a quick ‘do, this trendy wet hair look is a super fast way to style your hair. Part your damp hair and set it by using a fine toothed comb to distribute gel all over the top of your head. Then simply braid your hair into two pigtails and hit them with a blow dryer for a few moments so you don’t leave the house with soaking wet hair.
