This should go without saying, but the clothes that are shown at Couture Week in Paris are super fancy, as are the materials that go into making them. Between the layers of tulle, the hand-beading and embroidery and immaculate construction, the rich couture collections were filled to the brim with both feathers and fur.
The Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear shows were pretty much PETA’s worst nightmare, and the trendfor better or for worsedoesn’t look like it’s going anywhere fast. The luxe materials appeared on the runways at Givenchy Couture, Giambattista Valli Couture and Jean Paul Gaultier Couture just to name a few, so if you’re not one for cruelty to animals, you might want to start hunting for the faux versions of these fluffy pieces stat.
