When it comes to Christmas decorations, it’s easy to focus exclusively on the tree (and we’re definitely guilty of doing that). But that doesn’t mean that you should neglect other parts of your house. Your fireplace, after all, is where Santa will (in theory) descend on Christmas Eve, and you wouldn’t want him to be subjected to a boring mantel with only a random candle thrown up for decoration.

Thankfully, there are tons of ways to personalize your hearth, from live garlands of fir (if retro is your thing) to DIY wreaths. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite looks so your mantel is not only festive, but pretty.
