It’s not shocking news that we’re obsessed with The Rachel Zoe Project, and it becomes even more apparent when we watch the red carpet at awards shows. It has become extremely fun to sit, remote in hand, in a white bathrobe but still bedecked in jewels (okay, maybe not), exclaiming things like “she’s killing it right now,” and, “she’s shutting it down.” Now no one was wearing an altered Chanel couture gown per Rach’s request at the Emmy’s last night…but there were some pretty gorgeous girls stomping around in satin and taffeta…and some pretty poorly-styled ones as well.
The Best:
Drew Barrymore(above) – We sighed a little over the super-pretty Monique Lhullier blush strapless confection. Big fan of her lip color, as well.
Ginnifer Goodwin – Really beautiful in this YSL with a low-cut sweetheart neckline. So chic.
January Jones – If anyone could wear Versace like a pro, this Mad Men vixen could. Hot.
Leighton Meester – How gorgeous is a white gown and a red lip? Especially when said dress is Bottega Veneta?
Mary-Louise Parker – The leggy Weeds star rocked Zac Posen last night…and with good reason. She stood out among all the ballgowns and fairy dresses.
Sandra Oh – Love a girl in gold Marchesa…and she looks like this was painted on her an hour before red carpet time. The peek of a pink shoe is unexpected and pretty.
Olivia Wilde – Another Marchesa winner, the sexy cut-outs and soft hue was a bit of a fashion risk…something not often seen at the Emmy’s.
The Worst:
Christina Applegate – This poorly-tailored cornflower blue number resembled a prom dress her sister lent her for the occasion.
Kim Kardashian – Kardashian! Why are you trying to look like J.Lo as Selena circa 1994?
Blake Lively – This is how you don’t wear Versace…with Tomb Raider hair and that much boob.
Padma Lakshmi – Who even knows what’s going on here? It’s Badgley Mischka, but… very unflattering for the slim restaurateur, and the bulge of flowers give her awkward proportions.
Sarah Silverman – Who in God’s name gave this girl a bustle? The color is pretty with her complexion, but there is way too much fabric, and the controversial comedienne looks much bigger than we know she is.
