Rather, it’s her wise-beyond-her-years insight on race and diversity, current events, and self-image that have helped to shape her growing following (and her supreme Instagram meme game helps a little, too).
Beyond that, Zendaya has also been called “one to watch” on the red carpet for the past couple of years—between her sartorial choices and her exceptional beauty prowess, she rarely misses the mark. The actress-singer-dancer signed on as the
face hair of the popular hot tools line CHI just a few months ago, and today she announced her latest venture as the new face of Covergirl.
Covergirl has a commendable track record of hiring truly badass, blessedly different women like Janelle Monae, P!nk, Ellen Degeneres, and Queen Latifah to represent their brand. “Covergirl celebrates powerful, beautiful, and strong women of different races and ethnicities,” Zendaya told Teen Vogue. “I’m thrilled to be part of the diversity and expansion of beauty.”
And the girl already knows a thing or two about makeup: She recently suggested that she may just need to start doing makeup tutorials. There she goes, making one of our longtime favorite drugstore brands even better. (As long as she doesn’t touch the mascaras—they’re already perfect the way they are.)
