You may not know Yadim by name, but you’ve definitely seen his work. The Global Maybelline Makeup Artist is the mastermind behind Lady Gaga’s beauty look in her “Applause” video, and also gave Rihanna the most flawless face we’ve ever seen in her 2014 Balmain campaign.

Clearly, the San Diego native is a beauty whiz, so we were curious how he keeps his cool during New York Fashion Week’s notoriously hectic backstage scene—especially considering Maybelline is an official sponsor, and he’s required to crate beauty magic at a slew of shows and events. From his always-reliable Nike sneaks and and button downs to his undying love for Britney Spears, this is what fuels Yadim during the year’s busiest week.

The snack I pack is:
“A Clif bar. Easy is key during the craziness of Fashion Week.”

My go-to drink is:
“Iced sugar-free vanilla latte.”

The workout I try to fit in is:
“…none. If only I had a minute to work out!”

The shoes I wear all week are:

The beauty product I always keep in my own bag is:
Maybelline Baby Lips to refresh my chapped lips.”

My favorite NYFW restaurant spot is:
I sadly don’t have time to dine out during fashion week. But I really like Oovina in Hell’s Kitchen.

The best people to follow on Instagram during Fashion Week are:
“I’m taking a break from social media right now. We’ll see how long that lasts!”

The music I listen to backstage on repeat is:
““Work B*tch” by Britney Spears.”

My trick to getting sleep on long flights is:
“I tend to watch movies then sleep at the hotel when I arrive.”

My favorite models to work on or see are:
“I love them ALL!!!”

The product I can’t wait to work with this season is:
“Maybelline New York The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara. I helped develop it with the team and it provides a dramatic lift and volume. Everyone’s going to love it!”

My favorite Fashion Week city is:
“New York City – the energy is unrivaled.”

My favorite spot to visit when I have downtime – in any of the Fashion Week cities – is:
“Probably my hotel room!”

The best part of fashion week is:
“All the energy backstage and working with friends.”

The worst part of fashion week is:
“Getting up early. 🙁 ”
