We’ll use pretty much any excuse to “invest in” (read: impulse buy) new beauty products. Long day? Feeling sick? Shoulder hurts from carrying your purse around? Solution: new beauty products. But as far as legit reasons to splurge go, the change in seasons is pretty much the best. We can’t just go on using our lightweight summer moisturizers throughout the winter, now can we?

The problem is that we want to buy everything. We’re not content to just score a single lipstick or plunk down some serious cash on a new serum. We want it all—which is why these 30 new beauty buys under $30 will satisfy all our new-stuff needs without breaking the bank. Well, not completely.

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Dry Shampoo ($28)

If you're a fan of the sexy, luxurious Nirvana Black fragrance, which combines floral violet with rich sandalwood and vanilla, then you'll love the new dry shampoo take—because what's better than clean-looking hair that also smells incredible?

Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Micellar Cleanser ($30)

We're big fans of no-rinse, soap-free micellar waters, especially when our skin is acting insane due to the weather. This super-soothing formula removes every trace of dirt and makeup, and it leaves skin feeling smooth and refreshed to the touch, never tacky.

VERB Volume Spray ($14)

Frizzy, flat hair doesn't stand a chance against this soft-hold conditioning spray, which gives hair major volume without making it crunchy or stiff. Our favorite thing about this protein-rich formula? It doesn't require following up with a dryer to create body, wave, and just the right amount of hold.

Skinfix Ultra Rich Body Butter ($14.99)

This seriously thick butter is, indeed, a "super quencher" for your ailing winter skin. Considering the eight-ounce jar is packed with natural ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, and sunflower oil, that under-$15 price is pretty damn sweet.

Farmacy Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask Deep Moisture ($24)

With so many sheet masks on the market, we seriously can't help but want to try them all—but as the weather turns, we'll be relying on this hydrating, balancing, collagen-boosting mask for all our skin-crisis needs.

H&M Kiwi and Watermelon Face Mask for Combination Skin ($3.99)

H&M's massive new beauty collection is full of winners, but we can't get enough of these single-use masks. At just $4, it's seriously tempting to buy several. This self-warming, peel-off version—which uses manuka honey, raspberry leaf, and citrus fruits to clear pores and gently remove dead skin cells—is a must.

Burt's Bees Lipstick ($9)

No matter how much we love our luxury lip balms, there will always be a place in our hearts for the O.G. Burt's—and now we've made some room for these boldly hued, majorly moisturizing lipsticks, too, in each of the 14 versatile shades.

MAKE Twilight Lip Oil Remover ($12)

If you've ever scrubbed at your lips with a washcloth until they were raw just trying to remove a long-wear lip color, this genius lip oil is for you. Meadowseed oil and glycerin work to wipe away even the most pigmented lipsticks in one swipe, and the fragrance-free, paraben-free, hypoallergenic ingredients mean you don't have to feel weird about putting it so close to your mouth.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil ($28)

If it ain't broke, don't fix it … but please do make an oil out of it. The forever cult-favorite Eight Hour Cream now comes in an oil incarnation that can be used for hair, face, and body—the fact that it smells so good is just a plus.

Essie Virgin Snow ($8.50)

Because the season isn't complete without at least one suggestively named nail color, we'll be wearing Virgin Snow all winter long. The pale, icy lavender shade is remarkably flattering on the very fair, the very deep, and all skin tones in between, which is not easy for a pastel polish to pull off.

Alterna Haircare Moisture Intense Oil Crème Pre-Shampoo Treatment ($30)

Even the best-cared-for hair can start to tend toward dryness when the temperature drops, so it's all but necessary to take extra precaution. For an extra hydrating boost, this pre-shampoo treatment infuses hair with rich lightweight oils and locks in color too.

Colourpop Lip Pencil in Behr Hug ($5)

The insanely low prices and insanely high quality of Colourpop products make us feel like we're committing a crime every time we purchase, but they're so good we just can't quit. This crazy-pigmented cherry red shade is intended to be used as a lip pencil, but we like to wear it on its own as a punchy matte lipstick.

Tarte LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss in Energy Noir ($19)

Regardless of whether you believe the claim that this silky, totally nonsticky lip gloss adjusts to a "custom shade," its moisturizing, subtly glossy finish is flattering on everyone, and the soft plum shade is well-suited to winter.

Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour ($28)

Just slightly satiny and more dimensional than your standard matte lip color, this glorious new formula offers rich, vibrant color in each of its 12 gorgeous shades. Plus, who can resist names like An Affair, Boudoir, and Coquette?

Kevin Murphy DOO.OVER Dry Powder Finishing Hairspray ($27.50)

We have about 10 favorite dry shampoos, but all of them are lacking one thing: hold. No matter how much we apply to absorb the oil around our roots, we still have to follow up with a styling product to give our locks a little oomph. Call it answered prayers, because this dry finishing spray sops up excess oil while giving hair major volume and light hold that sticks around, even after your grease is long gone.

NUDESTIX Eyebrow Stylus Pencil & Gel ($24)

We never leave home without our brows on, and now we'll never have to leave home without something that will keep our brows on: This "stylus" contains a colored brow pencil on one end and a clear, strong-hold gel on the other, so it's literally everything we need to keep our brows in tip-top shape. Bonus points for the chic, travel-friendly packaging too.

Lipstick Queen Seven Deadly Sins ($24)

Gloss is back in a big way, and where better to begin than with these seven richly pigmented, ultra-shiny shades? The coverage is remarkable for a gloss, and the formula contains vitamin E and shea butter to smooth and soften lips as you wear.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Aging Perfector ($13.99)

A tinted anti-aging treatment that contains retinol, provides SPF 20 sunscreen, and costs under $15? Sign. Us. Up. In six sheer shades, this dewy-finish formula is basically everything we've ever wanted out of a skin care–meets-foundation product.

Jouer Kitten Liner ($28)

If applying a cat-eye ranks somewhere toward the bottom of your comprehensive list of skills, this liner is for you. The tiny tip and long handle give you complete control, and the formula goes on super smooth, never too wet or gloppy, so creating the sleek lines you're after is totally effortless.

Love + Sage Mint Condition Lip Balm ($12)

One can never have too many lip balms to accrue at the bottom of your purse all winter long, and this small-batch twist-up stick is as cutely packaged as it is soothing and moisturizing to lips. It's packed with all-natural ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, beeswax, argan oil, vitamin E, and more—and the brand counts Broad City stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson as fans, which is basically the best endorsement ever.

Eucerin In-Shower Moisturizer Body Lotion ($10.19)

Not the sexiest beauty product, sure, but hear us out: You slap this stuff on your just-washed skin before you get out of the shower, rinse, towel off as you usually would, and reap the nongreasy benefits of seriously smooth, touchable skin. It's unscented, so it won't compete with other fragrances, and the pared-down formula makes it perfect for touchy winter skin.

Nip + Fab Kale Fix Clay Mask ($19.95)

Kylie Jenner loves this line of effective, affordable skin care products—and, seriously, what's not to love? Whether or not the kale extract is actually a substantial ingredient (grain of salt!), this clay mask covers all the bases for winter by pulling toxins from the skin without any drying effects whatsoever.

It's a 10 Miracle Whipped Shampoo ($24.96)

The beloved It's a 10 line, best known for its iconic conditioning hair mask, just released this new sulfate-free shampoo, which works to smooth, repair, and strengthen all hair types. It makes hair so silky smooth, you might not even need conditioner.

CosmoCube Artistry Palette ($25)

If you're simply not content to be restricted by individual products, this transparent palette will enable you to create endless color combos in a simple, sterile way (i.e. not on the back of your hand). Another plus: Because it's clear, you can hold the palette up to your face to see if you've mastered your shade of choice.

Amika Mighty Mini Downtown Styler ($29)

The teeny-tiny styling tool we all knew we needed but couldn't track down, this mini titanium iron is absolutely perfect for travel. It heats up to 400 degrees in under a minute, and the smooth plates are ideal for creating everything from straight styles to loose, sexy waves.

Smashbox X-Rated Mascara ($22)

Get in on the preorder while you still can, because this innovative formula is selling out fast. It's supremely buildable, which means it's just as suitable for creating subtle natural looks as it is for over-the-top glamour, and true to the Smashbox mission, it photographs like a dream.

Nails Inc. Snowglobe ($15)

A shake of the bottle works to customize just how much of the gold shimmer gets on your nails—shake gently for a light coating or more vigorously to get the glitter going.

Honest Beauty Concealer Duo ($20)

Not only is this formula creamy, long-lasting, and perfect for covering under-eye circles, blemishes, and everything in between, but it also includes two coordinating shades to blend your perfect match.

L'Occitane Jasmin-Immortelle Neroli Body Lotion ($27)

It doesn't matter whether you're in it for the light, floral fragrance or the lightweight moisture—this body lotion comes through on both counts. The gorgeous scent comes courtesy of famed pastry chef Pierre Hermé, who probably knows what he's doing as it relates to notes that work well together.

Fresh Cocoa Exfoliating Body Soap ($16.50)

Fresh has never made a bad beauty product. With shea butter and natural cocoa and coconut powders to buff away dry, dull skin while cleansing, this one is sure to be an instant hit. (And, yes, it smells like cocoa.)
