The irony of New York Fashion Week, for those of us who work in fashion and beauty, is that we are so busy covering all of the shows and the backstage looks that we barely have enough time to comb our own hair and brush our teeth! We would love to look ultra glam, especially when we meet key hair, makeup, nail experts, and designers, but due to the hectic schedule we must resort to only the utmost essentials.

We asked eight of our editor pals that cover the shows for their number one go-to beauty products during New York Fashion Week and learned about some fantastic products that we just may have to try to squeeze into our routine as well! Click on theslide show above to read the editors’ beauty musts.

Dianna Baros, The Budget Babe

"My go-to product during Fashion Week is my Band-Aid Friction Block Stick! I have a long commute and do a lot of walking, and this little stick of magic works wonders on my feet, preventing chafing and painful blisters. It glides on clear, kinda like deodorant, and the petite container is small enough to fit in my pocket or purse so I can reapply as needed. Love it!" (Band-Aid Friction Block Stick, $6.99, Drugstore.com)

Jeannine Morris, Beauty Sweet Spot

"Normally I always have a cosmetic go-to for NYFW whether it's a lipstick shade I'll sport to all of the shows or a nail polish color that keeps me on trend, but this season I discovered something new that refreshes my makeup on the go and eases my mind in mid panic attack, Caudalie Beauty Elixir Facial Spray.  You're supposed to spritz it on a clean face to refresh and balance your skin, but I find if I spritz it midday over my makeup, re-boosts it and it smells like a spa in a bottle so it calms my anxiety." (Caudalie Beauty Elixir To Go Spray, $16 for the 1 oz bottle, Sephora)

Aly Walansky, A Little Alytude

"My must-have NYFW carry-along is Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray. Obviously, during NYFW we don't have time to SLEEP or EAT, but having decent hair for photos is a must. If I can make my blowout stretch from day 2 to day 3, I may actually have time to enjoy that cup of coffee. This doesn't require water or a shower, or a blow dryer - just spray, shake, and have fresh looking (and smelling!) hair. Now if only I could use it on my whole body..."  (Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray. $11 for the 1.4 oz spray, Sephora.com)

Angela Gilltrap, Running With Heels

"When my mascara is running down my face, I have Gucci bags under my eyes, I know my lips will always remain kissable."  (Bobbi Brown Crystal Lip Gloss, $17, Sephora.com)

Karie L. Frost, Beauty Etc.

"Backstage is always crowded, hot and sweaty, so using a foundation that doesn't slip and slide is ultra-important. I tap Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation as my go-to skin perfector: It's long-lasting so I don't look like a disaster by day's end; it offers seamless, breathable coverage—perfect for tight quarters; and the formula is truly sweat- and budge-proof—just what the editor ordered when jetting from show to show." (Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation, $40, Sephora)

Julie Murrell, ModCloth.com's Blog, Life in Style

"When running on little sleep, and little time, I rely on an easy, instant eye-opener. When I only have time for one product, I use Maybelline's Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner to create the classic cat-eye. It applies precisely, and stays on during the long days of Fashion Week!" (Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black, $7.25, Maybelline.com)

Carol Calacci, Second City Style

"This liner is creamy enough to glide on but still stays put all day long. I carry this with me at fashion week, so I can quickly go from day to night. The built in smudge tip gives a soft look for day, and later I can heavy up the line for a more dramatic look for evening. The Midnight blue color is perfect because it is not too harsh and it brightens up the whites of my eyes." (Bobbi Brown Creamy Eye Pencil in Midnight, $20, BobbiBrownCosmetics.com)

Ann Colville Somma, Holier than Now

"My fashion week savior is a little-known gem called NYC Sun 2 Sun Bronzing Powder.  The formula's sheer, mattifying and glow-giving at the same time, so it's a great fix when you're fading between appointments, and it's only $4.99 which is about as cheap and cheerful as it gets!" (NYC Sun 2 Sun Bronzing Powder, $4.99, NewYorkColor.com)
