We cannot tell a lie: we’re obsessed with Sofia Vergara. Not only is she gorgeous and incredibly hilarious as Gloria on Modern Family, she’s also a brilliant businesswoman and has been the most highly-paid woman on TV for three years running.
Plus, she’s endlessly gifable. Exhibit A:
So of course she’s a worthy recipient of the #WCW crown. We can’t wait to see her team up with Reese Witherspoon in the mismatched buddy comedy Hot Pursuit, coming out May 8. In the meantime, let’s look back at all of Sofia’s best beauty looks over the years. And get excited, because there have been a lot.

At the 14th Annual American Comedy Awards, 2000.
Did you know that Sofia is a natural blonde? At the beginning of her career (hosting TV shows like Fuera de serie (a travel series) and A que no te atreves ("I dare you"), she was as well known for her gorgeous hair as she was for her big smile and bubbly personality. Already we can see her signature beauty look developing: lots of long hair, slightly smoky eyes and neutral lips. Let's see how this evolves.
At the Maxim Hot 100 party, 2002.
With chestnut brown hair and apricot blush, Sofia looks like the Venus de Milo with these structured, messy waves. Speaking of her hair, Vergara has been very outspoken about how coloring her hair helped her break out in Hollywood. She told Self Magazine in 2010,“When I started acting, I would go to auditions and they didn’t know where to put me because I was voluptuous and had the accent -- but I had blonde hair. It was ignorance: They thought every Latin person looks like Salma Hayek. The moment I dyed my hair dark, it was, ‘Oh, she’s the hot Latin girl.’ ” Things to think about!

BLUSH GAME SO STRONG.
At the premiere of Lords of Dogtown, 2005.
This was the darkest Sofia's hair has ever been, likely coinciding with pressures in Hollywood to appear more "conventionally Latina" to get roles. We love the way her brows are a shade lighter and slightly warm-toned to lessen the harshness of absolutely black hair.
At the NCLR ALMA Awards, 2006.
Often people with brown eyes shy away from rich blue eyeshadow, but look at how it brings out the amber shades in Sofia's eyes. We love a woman who takes beauty risks on the red carpet!
At Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party, 2008.
The year before she truly hit the big time as Gloria on Modern Family, Sofia was already perfecting her superstar beauty game—and truly honing her signature look. The loose waves are defined but not overly sculpted, and the color is dark but multi-tonal. The lipstick is neutral yet dramatic, with lots of shine. The eyes are smoky (and the brows are perfection). And of course we can't ignore her absolutely radiant skin, showing up perfectly against this deep green dress. Though she wasn't yet a household name, Sofia was definitely a star in the making in 2008.
At the premiere of 2012, 2009.
By the end of 2009, Sofia was America's sweetheart. Her hilarious, nuanced portrayal of Gloria Delgado-Pritchett won her the love of audiences and critics alike. Though her beauty look hasn't noticeably changed here, please note the slight head-tilt; knowing your best angles is a crucial element in being photogenic, and this is definitely one of Vergara's noted poses.

At the Screen Actor's Guild Awards, 2010.
2010 was the year that Modern Family began its award show dominance. The cast won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and Sofia was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series (but didn't win, sad face emoji). She still look like a winner to us with these flawless loose curls and rosy-pink lips that compliment, rather than compete, with her statement-making gown.

At the Emmys, 2010.
Sofia was nominated for her first primetime Emmy this year, and totally brought it, beauty and style-wise, to the red carpet. Notice the signature head tilt and peach-toned lips and cheeks, which add depth and interest when teamed with her gold dress. Also notice the lighter highlights in her hair; as Sofia's star rose (and therefore had to bend less to the whims of casting directors and what they think Latinas "should" look like), she began to slowly edge back to her naturally light hair color.
At the Critics Choice Awards, 2011.
If you've ever wondered whether this woman looks totally incredible rocking a bold coral lip, the answer is YES.
At the Golden Globes, 2011.
Sofia was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe this year, and SHUT DOWN the red carpet with this stunning Old Hollywood-inspired look. Again, no big departures for her, beauty wise: her hair is loose and wavy, eyes smoky, lips understated. And yet it's not boring; it enhances her natural beauty and keeps the focus on her, rather than on overdone cosmetics.

Though it's clear that Sofia prefers to wear her hair down, we love when she does an updo. This ponytail with lots of curls (naturally) and volume at the crown is totally glam and red carpet-appropriate.

At the Emmys, 2011.
Nominated for another Best Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy, Sofia really amped up the glamour. This coral lipstick perfectly matched her dress, and her defined smoky eyes (with lots of long fake lashes) are the epitome of fabulous.
At the Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globe afterparty, 2012.
The hair: sleek, sideswept, slowly getting blonder. The lips: berry-stained perfection. The skin: immaculate. Whatever she's doing to look this good on the regular, we want in on it.
At the Emmys, 2012.
This is, as Tim Gunn would say, A Lot Of Look—and we love it, especially the bronze smoky eyes. Her hair is lighter still, and this subtle caramel ombre makes her wide 70s-inspired curls look totally current.
At the Ace Campaign press conference, 2013.
By 2013, Sofia was a household name and an absolutely massive star. She was working constantly, booking high profile ad campaigns—and, because she no longer had to fit into the stereotypical "Hot Latina" casting category, was back to her natural blonde hair color. We're obsessed with this shimmery, shiny golden-blonde shade; definitely amazing hair inspiration.

The first time since 2003 that she did a dramatic cat-eye. We swooned.
At Modern Family Fan Appreciation Day, 2013.
That hair + the warm red lipstick + classic Vergara head tilt = bow down.
At the SAG awards, 2014.
This is full-on Classic Starlet, and we are here for it. Though the very styled waves say 1940s, the fully-lined, slightly smoky cat eyes and plum lips make this look wonderfully modern. Plus, you need to be seriously brave to wear big jewelry with a major beauty look—but Sofia is nothing if not bold.
At the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, 2015.
If you've been wondering how to wear brown lipstick without looking like a 90s throwback, Sofia has the answer: sleek, center-parted hair, light contour, minimal eye makeup. This coy, over-the-shoulder look is another of Vergara's trademark red carpet poses; we say when you find an angle that makes you look your most gorgeous, work it out.
With Reese Witherspoon at the MTV Movie Awards, 2015.
These two super-talented babes are starring in Hot Pursuit together, and they look like they are having THE BEST TIME our promoting it. We really want them to be our celebrity BFFs—if only so that Sofia will share the secrets of her shiny hair and perfectly sharp navy blue cat eye with us.

Even at a smaller event, Sofia doesn't cut corners on her look. We salute her constant commitment to glamour, to comedy and to a fabulous beauty look that has stood the test of time. We love you, Sofia.
