When it comes to women we love, Gwen Stefani has forever been atop our list. Talented, cool as hell, fearless, gorgeous--she's long been a beacon for fabulous girls with something to say.

For our inaugural Woman Crush Wednesday, let's take a look back at some of Gwen's most inspirational beauty looks. And let's be real--she has had A LOT.

In 1996, Gwen was living every punk girl's dream: fronting an awesome band while rocking a flawless ponytail and thick bumper bangs.

Her spiky pixie in 1997 inspired many of us to reach for the scissors. Spoiler alert: we did NOT look as good as Gwen did with this proto-Gosselin cut.

Gwen made blue hair, thin brows and scarlet lips look beyond gorgeous at the VMAs in 1998.

If we'd had Pinterest in 1999, this artfully feathered blue-black dipdye would have been front and center on ALL of our boards.

Gwen went fully embraced the power of pink for No Doubt's Return of Saturn--pink eyeshadow, nail polish and (of course) hair.

Major eyeliner. Cool red lips matched to her dress (and gloves). Retro pincurls set to perfection. Gavin Rossdale. These are a few of Gwen's favorite things.

In 2001, Gwen embraced the power of long lacefront wigs, super-sharp cat eye liner and MEGA glossy red lipstick when she collaborated with Eve.

The elegant upswept pompador...the orange-red lips...Gwen's look in 2002 was timeless perfection.

Though the basic ingredients in Gwen's Love. Angel. Music. Baby.-era look are the same--platinum hair, curls, bold lips--the subtle twists she puts on them here shows that a signature look doesn't have to be boring.

Ah, what a difference a brow makes! Though we're obsessed with her sleek updo, Gwen's slightly thicker and lighter-colored eyebrows were making all the difference to her beauty game by 2008.

Okay, yes: in 2012 the peach blush, matte lipstick and mega lashes were to DIE for...but we're obsessed with her hair. You can take the girl out of the 90s, but you can't take the 90s out of the girl--and we mean that in the best possible way.

We're so used to seeing Gwen with the brightest red lips that we almost don't recognize her without them. But her look from the 2015 Grammys red carpet SLAYED. Everyone take a lesson in how to do neutral lips; this is a masterclass.

And for her Grammys performance with Adam Levine, Gwen served CLASSIC Stefani realness. NOBODY matches their lipstick to their outfits as perfectly as she does, and we love her for it.
