If we conjured a beauty patronus, it would definitely take the form of Cher. Gorgeous, driven, talented, opinionated, brave—Cher is, was and forever will be the diva of all divas, the queen of our hearts, the ultimate V-A-M-P…Vamp.

As she makes headlines for Twitter-punching noted bully and sentient sack of rage Piers Morgan right in the face, we decided to take a look back at some of her most iconic looks over the years—because when you think of amazing beauty game, you automatically think of Our Lady Cher.

As she makes headlines for Twitter-punching noted bully and sentient sack of rage Piers Morgan right in the face, we decided to take a look back at some of her most iconic looks over the years—because when you think of amazing beauty game, you automatically think of Our Lady Cher.

Cher in New York, 1967.

Though everyone thinks of straight, center-parted hair as the classic Cher style, in the late 60s she was still rocking thick bangs with cheekbone-grazing layers at the front. And can we talk about that graphic liquid eyeliner? The downturned inner corner is an stage makeup trick to make eyes look bigger—and if there's one thing Cher is all about, it's adapting stage makeup techniques for regular life.

Cher and Sonny Bono, 1967.

Cher has always had an appropriate sense of her own magnificence. Here she's wearing a long, full dark wig ornamented with Baby's Breath and white eyeshadow fully outlined with black liquid liner. The occasion? The premiere of Dr. Doolittle. No wonder Sonny looks so delighted to be dancing with her (#relationshipgoals).

Cher at the premier of Last Tango In Paris, 1973.

This look is so early 70s, we almost can't stand how perfect it is: long, square-tipped nails (how much do you want to bet they were painted dark red?), fake eyelashes for DAYS, thin brows, contour game on point. Truly iconic.

Cher wearing Bob Mackie, 1978.

Here we see Cher's signature makeup look begin to emerge: radiant skin, coral blush (all the better to enhance those cheekbones), warm eyeshadow, pinky-neutral lip color. And that gorgeous, slightly fluffy, wavy hair? Yeah, it's love.

Cher at Billboard's 1979 Disco Conference.

We consider ourselves Cher photo connoisseurs—so imagine our surprise when we found this astonishing picture that we'd never seen before.

Everything about this look is INCREDIBLE: the fingerwaves! The copper and brown eyeshadow! The matte terracotta lipstick! The tiny hint of blush! The thicker, brushed up brows! And what goes better with a perfect head than a bejewlled headpiece? I mean, if you're going to a disco conference (lol), you should definitely bring your A-game.

At the Dreamgirls opening after-party, 1983.

After starring in Silkwood in 1983, Cher was nominated for her first Oscar and won her first Golden Globe. Though she never abandoned her risk-taking style, she went a little less dramatic with her beauty as she strove to be taken seriously as an actress: pink eyeshadow, bright blush beneath the cheekbones, matte pink lips. We especially love her big, voluminous curls—is it just us, or is anyone else suddenly craving a perm?

Wait, did we say Cher went less dramatic? Obviously that didn't stick. Here she is rocking the hell out of a spiky blue-black wig with much thicker brows and her favourite pink eyeshadow. Notice how she's lined the waterlines of her eyes with black liner, then traced beneath her lashes with brown eyeshadow. This is another stage makeup technique designed to make eyes look wider and give a softer look to hard black liner, and Cher is serving it here.

In her home, 1987.

Just a very casual look for lounging at her house, no big deal. Cher won her first Best Actress Oscar in 1987 for Moonstruck; we love her giant Loretta Castorini curl cloud here, dark lipstick (a departure for her!) and purple eyeshadow. The coral blush, of course, remains a constant.

Cher at the 8th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, 1993.

We're including this photo, not just for Cher's stellar bangs game, but because CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE HASN'T BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME? Consider this our official petition to have her included; after a career spanning six decades, we think it's about damn time.

Cher at a book signing, 1998.

Ah, the Believe era. Marked by a lot of autotune, contoured cheeks (again, setting the trends), plum eyeshadow, pinker lips and red-streaked dark hair, it was a whole new generation's introduction to Cher.

As Elvis, performing for VH1's Divas 2002.

Is there any hairstyle Cher doesn't look amazing in? This amazing short Elvis wig (worn while she performed Walking in Memphis) was a last minute costume choice for the VH1 performance, and we love it with major lashes, nude lips and bronze eyeshadow.

Let this photo be a lesson that you're NEVER too old to do exactly what you want with your beauty game. Cher is still rocking her signature pink, sparkly eyes and coral blush with a severely chopped black and platinum wig. Is it out there? Yes. Is it amazing? Also yes.

Cher at the premier of Burlesque, 2010.

Our Lady of the Perpetually Perfect Wig chose a slightly more retro look befitting the slightly retro feel of Burlesque (which we don't care what anyone says, we LOVED). We love the soft waves worn with cranberry eyes and glossy pink lips. And, of course, THOSE CHEEKBONES *hearts for eyes emoji*

We love our bewigged, totally over the top Cher...but there's something wonderful about seeing her actual hair, too. With perfect skin and well-manicured nails, this look is casual red carpet glam for sure.

Selfie, 2015. Cher's twitter account is truly a thing a beauty. When she's not getting wildly creative with emoji, cursing out conservative causes or slapping human canker sore Piers Morgan about the head, she's "FEELING MINXIE" and taking selfies. Again, the separate makeup ingredients are nothing we haven't seen before—if Cher loves one thing, it's a signature look—but we love it anyway. May we aspire to this much beauty in our own selfies.
