Between swanning about in bikinis, hanging out with friends in the sun, and being treated to private concerts, being a Victoria’s Secret Angel doesn’t sound half bad. At least not according to Angels Elsa Hosk and Alessandra Ambrosio, who we chatted with in NYC this week while celebrating the first-ever Victoria’s Secret Swim Special, which airs tonight at 10/9C on CBS. Both ladies said of working with Victoria’s Secret (not to mention spending time filming in “the most beautiful places on earth”), “They really treat us like real angels.”
We just couldn’t stand in front of two of our favorite Angels without discussing our two favorite subjectswhich are, of course, health and beauty. When asked how she gets herself into even better tip-top shape for bikini season, Elsa said the key is in doing something that’s actually fun. “I hate going to the gym and walking on the treadmill,” she told us. Her personal favorite fitness pastime? Boxing. “I love [boxing]. It gives me a break from the world because you have to focus on the combinations. I feel like I just meditated afterwards,” she gushed.
Alessandra has a similar mindset when it comes to cracking down on your exercise routine, for both the real girl and the Angel. “I think it’s about just getting a little more physical,” she says. “I like being outside and being active outside.” If you’re ever in L.A., try seeking out her favorite workout spot: “There are these big outdoor stairs that everyone does. I love doing that in the summer, with the sunshine and the fresh air.”
When we asked about their must-have beauty products, it sealed the deal that, despite their otherworldly beauty and constantly TV-ready bodies (could someone do a Swim Special starring us?), they really are just girls after our own beauty-loving hearts. Elsa can’t get enough of her Mason Pearson brush, while Alessandra is totally devoted to her skin care routine. “I like a serum,” she said, “and I switch it up with vitamin C or different serums, and always moisturizer and sunblock.” Between Mason Pearsons and our devoted skin care routines, we can officially count ourselves as having something in common with the VS Angels.
