It goes without saying that red lipstick is synonymous with Valentine’s Day. And although we’d never diss the scarlet shade, it’s definitely not the only lip color option fitting of February 14th. Whether you’re ready to try something new or just don’t care for the color, we rounded up a few other Valentine’s Day lipstick products for you to try. What's better than a box of chocolate? If you ask us, it's a chocolate brown tube of creamy lipstick. bareMinerals Moxie Lipstick in Finish First ($18, bareescentuals.com) is formulated with vitamins A,C, and E for antioxidant protection and omega fatty acids to promote smoothness.

Hot pink lipstick is a little less expected than crimson red but it still fits in with the Valentine's Day theme. Give the shade a chance with Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick ($8, drugstore.com), which the brand claims gives you up to two times more matte color payoff compared to regular lipstick.

Finish off any soft, feminine look with a swipe of nude lipstick like The Body Shop's Colour Crush Lipstick in Golden Syrup ($12.50, thebodyshop-usa.com), a super moisturizing formula made with marula oil.

Skip the reds and pinks completely and step outside of the traditional Valentine's Day box with a bright lavender liquid lipstick like Tartiest Lip Paint in Yaassss ($20, sephora.com). Yep, that's its real name.

After you pop open that bottle of wine (or maybe before), swipe on Laura Geller's Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipstick in Mulberry ($21, laurageller.com). Long-lasting and moisturizing, it sounds like the perfect Valentine's Day pick.

Weightless and extremely pigmented, Julep It’s Whipped Matte Lip Mousse ($20, julep.com) is your best bet if you don’t want to feel like you have anything on at all. For those who want a more traditional Valentine's Day look, this red-orange shade, Beso, is a must.
