Continuing on with this season’s all about rock theme, Max Factor and CoverGirl makeup artist Pat McGrath created a smudged “modern eccentric” look for the Fall 2009 Anna Sui fashion show.
To create, she used Max Factor MaxEye liner in a black shade called Night Club all around the eyes, close the lashline and on the inner rims. She then smudged that off leaving behind the remnants of the pencil for a sheer, smoky eye.
Cheeks were given “a ton of blush” with Max Factor’s Color Genius Blush in Roses and lips were stained with CoverGirl Outlast Lipcolor in Sassy Mauve.

Before models hit the runway, McGrath also rubbed Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream on the eyelids to give them “that dewy, dreamy feel.”
Hairstylist Garren of Garren New York kept models’ hair long and shaggy. “Anna’s clothes are very baroque — lots of bright colors and ornate details,” he said. “If we did hair too perfect it would look like a period piece.”
He used volumzing conditioner on wet hair to prep, then created a center part. Hair was sprayed with his Designing Spray Tonic and then left to dry. Garren then ran his hands through models’ hair to gently tousle it and create a “silky bedhead with a piecey, fluid feel.”
