We thought face wipes were just about the easiest solution to any late night or cramped travel bag, but there’s a new skin care hero looking to find a home in your beauty bag. Cleansing balm sticks are the latest craze you’ve likely seen hitting the shelves of Sephora. In case you haven’t been brave enough to take the plunge into balm territory yet, these handy sticks are here to make you reconsider. Based off the same principle of our personal fave, cleansing balms, these sticks contain all of the same benefits of a liquid cleanser in solid stick form. The method of use is simple: Run water over your hands, lather stick onto said hands, and massage deposited oil onto face. Voilà—cleansed. These twist-up sticks are perfect for travel (no liquids to spill or otherwise get confiscated by TSA) and are seriously so simple to use, even your laziest self can handle. Ready to hop on board? Here are some cleansing sticks that are solid choices—see what we did there?
Julep Love Your Bare Face Detoxifying Cleansing Stick ($28, julep.com)
Although you’ll have to wait a bit before this one ships, you’ll be glad you did. A blend of natural oils and fruit enzyme (rice bran oil, grapefruit peel oil, camellia seed oil, and pomegranate fruit enzyme to be exact) are the star ingredients of this smooth, non-greasy cleanser. We traveled with it and found it to be an essential part of our weekend travel kit.
boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick Treatment ($28, sephora.com)
Fans of boscia’s charcoal line will jump for joy over this find, which contains glycolic acid and artichoke leaf extract in addition to its signature activated charcoal. Clogged pores don’t stand a chance!
