Sienna Miller’s hair is iconic. There, we said it. Ever since she exploded onto the scene in 2003 as the boho-chic It girl to watch, her ever-changing hair has become her beauty signature. And a decade later, we can still count on Sienna for incredible hair and makeup inspiration—she’s never met a beauty risk she didn’t love, and that’s the kind of dedication to glamour we most respect.
So naturally, Sienna (and her amazing hair) had to be our Woman Crush Wednesday. Let’s take a look back at her most amazing beauty moments over the years.
The shaggy ’70s bang has made its way back today, but Sienna (being the hair prophet that she is), worked it in 2003 with golden blonde face-framing layers and a gorgeous glow.
Sienna attended the 2004 Academy Awards as a brunette, wearing a subtle cat-eye, natural pink lipstick, and her freshly dyed dark locks in a voluminous updo.
She made a bold beauty move in 2005, chopping all her long hair off into this layered, Edie Sedgewick-esque pixie cut that incorporated side-swept bangs. And of course, she gave it edge by parting her fringe down the center.
A night at the opera in 2006 called for a feminine blowout styled with a center part. As you may have noticed, Sienna has a thing for smoldering black eyeliner and nude lips, and it’s a makeup look that complements just about any hairstyle. When it works, it works.
The milkmaid braid that she wore to a Golden Globes after-party back in 2007 is one of her most famous looks to date. She finished off the look with fluttery lashes, dewy skin, and perfectly groomed brows.
The Sienna Miller hair archives are filled with messy updo and lipstick inspo. We’d like to bring your attention to the coral lip hue and the bouffant-meets-bun ‘do she wore to the “Factory Girl” premiere back in 2007.
Busting out the Hollywood classics, Miller attended the premiere of “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” wearing scarlet red lipstick and glam, cascading waves.
Right when ombre reached its peak back in 2013, Miller switched things up by debuting the hair color gradient in a gorgeous rose gold shade. Her brunette roots transitioned from pink to a tinted platinum that we adored.
That same year, Sienna brought eye-grazing bangs into the mix, styling her new cut in a high ponytail and complementing the sexy ‘do with smokey liner.
By far her edgiest look, Sienna attended the punk-inspired Met Gala in 2013 wearing her tousled locks pulled back with a studded headband. Her low-key makeup totally helped balance out the dramatic hairstyle. We’d like to see her break out that accessory again, to be honest.
Sienna had one of the most famous bobs in Hollywood, but she gives the trendy length a cool girl vibe with tousled waves and a ’90s hair flip.
At the 2015 Oscars, Sienna stunned us with smoked out eyes, matte pink lipstick, and a very elegant updo that featured French braids in the back.
Seriously, who knew that two simple hair twists could work on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet? Sienna Miller worked the alternative ‘do for the big event, giving short-haired women everywhere a brand new go-to hairstyle. Another big surprise? The shimmery bronze metallic eye makeup that Miller wore instead of her signature black liner.
We have to admit, we didn’t see this coming! Just a few weeks back, Miller ditched her blonde bob and went completely red.
Today? Sienna is back to her status as a golden blonde, working her piece-y bob-length hairstyle with glowy, radiant makeup while promoting her new movie, High Rise. We love you, Sienna—we can’t wait to see what you do next!
