From BBQs in the park to outdoor weddings and days just spent laying out on the sand, summer certainly is glorious, particularly when a vacation is in order—but it can also be a real killer on our skin and hair. Sun damage to skin and dry, moisture-zapped hair are two major concerns from June through August, but the last thing we want is to miss out on summer fun because of vanity. These quick fixes will nip your summer beauty problems in the bud, so you can get through the season totally unscathed.

Fix Dry Hair and Faded Color
Sun, chlorine, and salt water are all seeing some major quality time with our hair, so it’s no surprise our locks are dry and brittle. We love Original Mineral Detox Shampoo and Conditioner, which contains Australian river mint and peppermint oil, for a mini-cleanse—a spa vacation for your hair, if you will. For a fast fix, ColorProof CrazySmooth Anti-Frizz Treatment Masque is our go-to. Not only does this deep conditioner moisturize and defrizz like crazy, but it helps to protect color from fading, too.

Erase Sun Spots, Freckles, and Unwanted Redness
No matter how many times we apply SPF throughout the day, we still find ourselves collecting some unwanted color and sunspots, but skin tone-correcting serums and brightening creams can provide some relieve. Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum uses peptides to lighten spots, while the glycolic acid exfoliates skin to encourage the ingredients to penetrate skin faster and more easily. As for brightening, give Clayspray Brightening White Clay with Ginseng Masque a try. It goes on thick and creamy like any other clay, but because it’s in a spray bottle, you have more control over application. In minutes, you’ll have clearer, dewier skin.

Clear Up Body Acne
We dare not wish the end of humid, sticky weather upon us, because you know what that means. (Fall.) However, the constant sweating can often result in below-the-neck breakouts and body acne. The best way to fight off acne on the shoulders and back is to use an acne-fighting body wash, like Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash. The salicylic acid gently removes blemishes without overdrying or irritating skin. Exfoliation is also key: Brush Eight Skincare Dry Skin Brush in circular motions over the skin to remove the top layer of dead skin cells and soften the skin’s surface.
