True story: A photographer taking my headshot recently cocked her head and said “hmmm…you’re a little shiny.” Score! She understandably looked baffled when I told her I aim to glisten.
For real: I love skin that’s shiny—treadmill skin I like to call it, because I only seem to achieve it after a few minutes slogging along on the machine. I’ve tried every product on the market to replicate that dewy flush, but few have given me anything natural. I don’t know about you, but giant flecks of gold glitter don’t normally seep from my pores. Which is why I’ll never use anything but Pixi’s $14 Tinted Brilliance Balm in Lucent Glow on my face again. Oh, it’s a lip pencil.
A few months ago, I was sent a sample of the product, and—given how the packaging says “brilliance balm” I assumed it was a facial highlighter, don’t ask me why. I started applying it daily—on my cheekbones, down the center of my nose, a little on my eyelids—and was shocked how it gave me the dewy skin I spent my adult life trying to get.
It was only after my mom and a few of my friends started asking what I’d been using to give me this newfound glow that I actually looked it up—and was shocked to find the product is a sheer, solid lip balm in a pencil form. Mind blown.
It’s the lightest, most sheer shade in the range and it my dewy secret weapon—and I insist you try it on your face
