Quick Ways To Get Last Minute Summer Color

Last week I shared my experience getting a spray tan by an aesthetician. However, if you’re not keen on exposing all in front of an aesthetician just to get a little color, there are other spray tan options for you to indulge in before summer comes to an end.

Automatic Spray Tan Booths
Although they have not had the best reputation in the past, automatic spray tan booths have received a makeover in recent years, resulting in tans that are natural looking and no longer streaky or orange. The spray-on booth uses the same formula as the one done by an aesthetician, so you will receive a similar color. “Automatic spray tan booths are very good if you cannot bare anyone seeing your exposed body,” Skin Finishing Expert Sophie Evans from St. Tropez, told me. “But remember, you must follow the booth instructions properly to avoid any nasty mistakes.”

At-Home Spray Tanning
Now many companies are producing at-home spray tans, such as Sheer Esque. The Florida-based company has a line of SheerTan products that create an all-over tan using an extended length wand sprayer ($40, Sheertan-sunless-tanning.amazonwebstore). “At home spray tans can be good for smaller areas like the face or the legs and are great to achieve a professional airbrush finish,” Sophie told me. “But…when you spray tan, you must spray at a 90-degree angle to what you want to spray. If you do not spray straight, the tan will go everywhere.” This can be tricky and messy if you are spraying yourself. If you plan on using an at-home spray tan to cover your entire body, I recommend asking a friend for help – especially for those hard-to-reach places like your back.
