Celebrities: They’re just like us. They get haircuts.
But distinctly unlike us, people really care about their haircuts. It’s news, even. We scramble all over each other to be the first to announce that, somewhere in California or Paris or New York City, there was a haircut—a celebrity haircut.
Sometimes it’s kind of a big deal, like when Tyra Banks got a pixie or when Charlize Theron shaved her head. Most of the time, though, it’s just your average haircut—they get a few inches off, maybe, or even just a trim, and the Internet still works itself into hysteria over the minor change.
These 10 celebrities all barely got haircuts this year, but we totally freaked out over them anyway. Hey, we’re as guilty as anyone.
Outspoken as she is about having (and loving) extensions, it's sometimes surprising to see fans react so incredulously to her having taken off a few—fake—inches. Also, she always looks incredible, so whatever.

The most recent offender, Adele received a small trim, likely to keep her hair looking healthy and her ends in good shape. We collectively crowed that she had "gotten a bob," despite it being the same style as before, just ever so slightly shorter. Adele is probably surprised anyone even noticed.

#neverforget the time Emily got a very insignificant trim that somehow was translated into "Emily Ratajkowski just cut all her hair off!!!!"

Hailee Steinfeld did not "get bangs." She already had bangs; she just parted them to the side.

This one is especially confusing to us, considering Jenna's hair looks longer than it did before. Still, she took to Instagram to show off a "new cut," so it was naturally presumed that she had a "sexy new bob."

Jessica traded in a collarbone-skimming length for something just a few inches shorter, and we all freaked out over her big change from a lob to a bob.

Looks like two or three inches to us—but two or three inches is a huge difference when you're Jessica Chastain, who's pretty much instantly recognizable for that gorgeous copper mane.

Perhaps the most baffling of all, Kate Middleton took maybe two inches off the ends, and that's being generous. But people are totally obsessed with the Duchess's hair, so naturally the Internet reacted as if she'd gotten a pixie. (It's not a pixie.)

From shoulder-length to just above the shoulders, this "fresh new cut" seems more like general maintenance.

To be fair, this one might have been kind of major, had it been real hair. Selena is another open advocate of extensions, so it's yet another case of a celebrity just getting hers cut or removed.
